Is That Really What We Want?

It's not the first time I saw a video like A Brief Rant on the Future of Interaction Design. In fact, this kind of video made me remind Industry Design which is a program designing technical tools or devices. No matter Industry Design or this kind of video, they both show a higher technical level of interaction. 

However, in some degrees, I do feel pressure if someday our world changes to that phenomenon. I am not the kind of people who regard technology as an enemy, but I will feel that I am controlled by machines if I live in that world. I do not think it is convenient to interact with machines in such way. Maybe it seems that we can deal with event at any time and any places in a delicate way, but we almost lose our initiatives. That's why I said that it looked like I was controlled by machines.

Another important step we may ignore is that the preparation before the interaction between machines and human. The video displays how technology can be used for human, but it does not introduce how human interact with machines. We do not know how to let machines recognize their host and how to input information to machines which I do not believe is easy. There is a possibility that human may do much more jobs than what they will omit with machines. 

Therefore, we have to rethink the meaning of the development of technology.
